Finance and Pension Professor: GIBS (Gordon Institute of Business Science)
Dr Frank Magwegwe, popularly known as “Dr Mags,” overcame homelessness in the early 1990s and now teaches at the Gordon Institute of Business Science (GIBS), University of Pretoria. His work focuses on employee well-being, financial wellness, mental health, and resilience, and he consults widely in these areas.
A certified financial planner, certified financial risk manager, and chartered alternative investment analyst, Dr Mags holds a PhD from Kansas State University (USA) and completed the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School. He has 28 years of experience in the financial services industry, where he has served in several executive roles, including CEO and COO. He has also served as Non-Executive Chairperson of Mazi Asset Management.
