Chief Operating Officer & Executive Director: Colourfield Liability Solutions
Dr Shaun Levitan is Chief Operating Officer and Executive Director of Colourfield Liability Solutions, a Johannesburg-based liability-driven investment (LDI) specialist he co-founded in 2009. A qualified actuary who also holds the CFA and CQF designations, Shaun pioneered detailed asset-liability modelling in South Africa and has spent two decades helping pension funds align their investment strategies with their liabilities.
His work extends this liability-aware thinking to individuals in retirement arrangements through goals-based investing, with a particular focus on how members can turn their savings into secure, sustainable retirement income.
Shaun holds a PhD in Finance from EDHEC Business School, supervised by Professor Lionel Martellini, with a thesis titled Improving Retirement Outcomes in Defined Contribution Systems.
Outside finance, he is Vice President of Chess South Africa.
