Henry Wilson is a public-sector leader and experienced pension fiduciary with nearly three decades of service to Wayne County. Henry rose to the rank of Sergeant, while serving across critical operational and administrative divisions.
In addition to his administrative leadership, Henry has served on the Wayne County Employees’ Retirement System (WCERS) Board of Trustees since 2015, including five years as Board Chair. Henry’s experience includes pension governance, fiduciary responsibility, investment oversight, risk management, and evaluating strategies designed to strengthen the long-term financial security of public employees and retirees. He is particularly interested in the role institutional investors and public pension funds can play in long-term investments, including infrastructure, while maintaining prudent risk management and fiduciary discipline.
He holds a Master of Public Administration from Central Michigan University, with a concentration in State and Local Government. His comprehensive background across public safety, executive administration, and institutional investment provides a unique perspective at the intersection of public policy, county governance, and pension administration.
Henry believes effective pension governance requires disciplined decision-making, transparency, and long-term perspective—protecting the retirement security of today while building sustainable opportunities for tomorrow.
